The University of Malta Futsal team officially launched their website last Tuesday in the KSU Common Room. The team managed to secure this by the grant provided through the Small Initiatives Scheme, with the aim of connecting the team’s fans better to the players.
President Kurt Rizzo stated, ‘Given that no supporters could come and watch us during our games, we decided to reverse the wheel and go to our supporters with latest news, fixtures, and results being uploaded on the website. Key factors to this project revolve around the elements of volunteering and also education. The website is another platform to showcase the importance of voluntary work being done and the community itself. Ranging from the Committee, Technical Staff, Players, and our members, this will be the ideal platform to spread the word on the work done throughout the year and the progress made by the team. Another important element is to educate more students and youths on the local futsal and esports scene. Being two sports which are quite largely growing step by step locally, we have found this the right opportunity to construct the website in a manner to promote educational content on these sports and use it as an opportunity to attract students and youths. Finally, the website project is just the first of many other planned projects that are currently being worked on by the organisation and which together shall combine a unique and new era to both the University and sport scene.’
The website can be viewed here.
